ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
WHO WE ARE
Southern California Flex Academy is a tuition-free TK-12 public online school in California that uses innovative technology to help students thrive in their schoolwork and life. At Southern California Flex Academy, we empower students to be their best by enabling them to learn in ways that are right for them—at home, at their proper level, and at their own pace.
HOW WE HELP
Southern California Flex Academy teachers work with students to engage them in academic inquiry, skill building, and to foster curiosity. Teachers work with elementary, middle and high school students to review lessons and assessments and to guide and support students and learning coaches through the program. Teachers, parents, and students meet on a regular basis to evaluate progress and provide additional enhancement learning opportunities. The learning coach, which is typically the parent or legal guardian, serves as an enthusiastic supporter, dedicated to the academic success of the student.
WHO WE SERVE
- Students looking for more academically challenging curriculum
- Students who have faced adversity or academic challenges
- Students who are looking for more flexibility and teacher support
- Students behind on credits that are looking to catch up academically
- Students who may be unable to physically attend school and need flexibility to pursue their dreams
- Students that are homeless and lack “a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.”
COMPLIANCE
Southern California Flex Academy’s policy is to comply with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The Charter School is the local agency primarily responsible for compliance with federal and state laws and regulations governing educational programs. Pursuant to this policy, persons responsible for conducting investigations shall be knowledgeable about the laws and programs, which they are assigned to investigate.
A VIBRANT & SUPPORTIVE SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Southern California Flex Academy offers a vibrant, supportive school community with various ways to connect, whether that be through a live class session, school event, or one of our social media channels. In addition, student clubs, enrichment programs, and community service projects make students feel like they are a part of something and provide opportunities for social interaction.
